About this site

Welcome to my website, home of my weekly newsletter and launching point for other projects I'm working on. I hope you sign up for the newsletter so you can learn more about what I'm doing and how you can be part of it.

Mission

I am trying to accelerate a just transition to a world that works for all humanity. I want to empower individuals and small groups everywhere to reclaim their role as world creators, collaborating globally to develop regenerative solutions to the problems we face, adapting them to local conditions, and implementing them locally for the benefit of themselves, the environment, the community and the world.

About Me

I'm Jim Applegate, a Colorado-based web developer, writer, entrepreneur and world creator dedicated to helping everyday people participate in reshaping the world for the benefit of everyone. I have a strong faith in human ingenuity, and I've spent decades looking for ways to help people become better innovators and apply their skills toward solving world problems.

I'm founder of World That Works, LLC, and I blog about the ideas and perspectives that lead to meaningful creative work right here on this website.

I established the Open Artifacts Initiative at OpenArtifact.org to promote and support the creation of open artifacts projects. I'm currently developing a searchable database of open artifacts projects to help connect creators with projects that need them.

My resume is available on LinkedIn.
