There are a lot of good people in the world doing a lot of good things. How are you supposed to know which cause is the most worthwhile to both you and the world? How do you know that the work you're doing is going to make any difference in the end? How can we be sure that we're not wasting our time and money, or worse, making the problem worse with our actions?
These are things I've been thinking about for a while, and I think I know the answer. These questions come up because we can't see the world very clearly. If we could see it clearly, the problems and some part of the solutions would be clear to us as well. The secret is to cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the world.
